After reading many different articles, I thought this was an amazing breakthrough for one woman, and motivation for many others. The article states facts about her childhood, goals, and accomplishments. Adriane Brown is the president and COO of Intellectual Ventures and on the list of women to watch in Fortune's Magazine. She states that women need a voice and their work needs to speak the loudest. Shattering the glass ceiling is not only challenging for women in general, let alone African American women. Adriane shows that it can be done, and more women should strive to have a voice.
Adriane's type of leadership is similar to the trait approach. We see how she shows dedication by sticking with going to the white school, when kids continued to call her names. She also proves to be dedicated to take part in change by becoming the class president in the 6th grade. Being the class president can also show that she has self-confidence. Another trait Adriane shows is integrity. She wanted to persevere, so not only did she go about and beyond to show her integrity, but she had mentors and gained followers through showing her knowledge of how it is possible to break the glass ceiling.
